Christine’s passion for art began at a childhood visit to the home of renowned American Landscape Painter Frederic Church in Hudson, New York, leader her to enrolled in art classes at age 7. She later earned a B.A. in Visual Art/Graphic Design from UMBC, further honing her skills. Today, Christine primarily works with acrylics, watercolor, and ceramics, while also exploring creative techniques such as wood burning, needle felting, embroidery, and fiber arts.
As a frequent visitor to New York, Christine has had a lifelong attachment to the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson Valley. Her artwork is inspired by wandering upstate, architecture, history, nature, religion, and the whimsy of childhood. As for the name, Christine's grandparents lived in the City of Hudson and would take her “Overstreet,” to shop in the heart of the historic city.
