Christine Hannett Garner

Visual Artist, Photographer, Designer

Christine became interested in art as a child while attending an exhibit at the home of American Landscape Painter, Frederic Church, in Hudson, New York. She soon enrolled in art classes and continued through college, where she earned a B.A. in Visual Art/Graphic Design from the UMBC. Christine is currently focused on acrylics, watercolor, and ceramics, but also enjoys wood burning, needle felting, embroidery, and fiber arts.

As a frequent visitor to New York, Christine has had a lifelong attachment to the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson Valley. Her artwork is inspired by wandering upstate, architecture, history, nature, religion, and the whimsy of childhood. As for the name, Christine's grandparents lived in the City of Hudson and would take her "Overstreet," to shop in the heart of the historic city.
